Update November 2024:
As of 11/07/24, received word from member that University of Utah hospital no longer allows directed blood donations. Say they only do it “for rare blood types” and throwing up all types of road blocks.
So the below is no longer true, unfortunately. I only leave it there to show the change of policy.
According to feedback from SafeBlood members, the University of Utah Hospital allows and conducts directed donations.
